It's different....

Recently, something made me think about this story I read in the book "Way of the Peaceful Warrior":

     An old man and his son worked a small farm, with only one horse to pull the plow.  One day, the horse ran away.

          "How terrible," sympathized the neighbors.  "What bad luck."

           "Who knows whether it is bad luck or good luck," the farmer replied.

     A week later, the horse returned from the mountains, leading five wild mares into the barn.

          "What wonderful luck!" said the neighbors.

          "Good luck?  Bad luck?  Who knows?" answered the old man.

     The next day, the son trying to tame one of the horses, fell and broke his leg.

          "How terrible.  What bad luck!"

          "Bad luck?  Good luck?"

     The army came to all the farms to take young men for war.  The farmer's son was of no use to them, so he was spared.

          "Good?  Bad?"

I think I'm done using this name.  Too many memories attached and its time to start over.  I'm not leaving xanga or going into hiding.  I'll be around.  Goodbye from PyramidC...for a while....

Yeah so I didn't get to go to lunch with two of my favorite people in the LV and I don't think I'll be able to join them today if they decide to go.  Sorry girls!  And this is my last day in Whitehall .  I also didn't get to see the other 1/3 of my trio more than once.    Ah well...class starts up again on Monday.  Fun fun.  Only one class on Monday...4:30-5:45 (pm), I'm excited!  My books only cost $88 this semester.  But my art supplies will cost anywhere from $100-200.  Hmm.  But I'm sure none of you really want to hear about that, sooo moving on....

I really don't have much to reflect on about this vacation.  I learned some things.  I realized some things.  And odd/wonderful things have happened.  I won't be visiting Whitehall High again until May possibly, that's for sure.  Before I was upset about how this vacation went.  The weather was kind of poopy and what is there to do in Whitehall when the roads suck and you're stuck in the house 95% of the time?  But wait...what is there to do in Whitehall ever?  I did spend a lot of road and talk-time with SB however and that was fun.  Carpe Diem!  I'll be back in 8 weeks...eh.  I don't think many people will be around though because I'm pretty sure no one else's spring break starts in February!  Ok, so its the last day of Feb., but still...

Update: got a chance to hang w/ my trio tonight!  yay!  I'm going to miss them so much.  Till March 8th!!!  Grrrrrr-rant was NOT at Friendly's tonight.  Dah!  Whitehall is all about plans not working out.  I've come to that conclusion.  Oh well.  12 1/2 hours...and i'll be on my way.  Later!

I'm probably the only one who'd say this but...I'm not a big fan of snow.  I have two nights left here.  And if the road conditions suck and I can't get out, I'll be just a little upset.  Yes.

a certain somebody's certain somebody is a little bit strange.  that, I discovered tonight.  But i love that family...

Tomorrow..er..later today lunch w/ Sarah and Steph.  Then who knows.  I will update more when there is something to update about.  Rock!
